e52b225b9da06fce9493f010__AA240__L.jpgSo yesterday the big brown truck made another stop at my house bringing me more Masonic goodies to read.  Seeing as I had off of work today, I decided to set aside some of my pre-fireworks time for a little reading on the Craft.  Though there were another 4 books in this most recent shipment, my eyes were drawn to "Freemasons: The Illustrated Book of an Ancient Brotherhood".  What can I say - I'm a sucker for pictures...

I'm only partially through this volume but I have found it quite the interesting read thusfar.  While it gives an overview of the Craft's history, it manages not to bog itself down with mind-numbing details like my 7th grade social studies text book did.  While it is very well written, perhaps the best part about this book is the full color photographs spread throughout its pages.

From the Washington Masonic Memorial (depicted to the right) to the cathedral at Chartres to the Goose and the Gridiron; from the Knights Templar to the Continental Congress to the Founding Fathers; all are lavishly illustrated in this worthwhile addition to any Masonic library.
