A Lesson for Freemasons
(26K)
The various instruments which we of this profession make use of, are all emblematical or picturesque of the conduct of life we ought to persevere in... Thus, from our instruments may we all be instructed to raise a stately fabric of good works, upon the strong foundation of faith, that we may be fitted at last to inhabit that glorious house, not made with hands, eternal in the Heavens!by

Charity as a Core of our Craft
(59K)
...In North America we have lost much of the philosophical qualities by which the Craft is known, probably due to an acquired complacency coupled with a lack of a force driving it. Certainly it has been true in recent years. Perhaps this complacency is a result of an absence of the same social needs as those in the countries to our south. What we have evolved into however, is an organization that places much emphasis and effort on raising money and funding charities. The resultant recognizable image of Freemasonry in North America is one of being a charitable organization. Although charity is a core value of the Craft, it is not the core value. We have other core values that have crafted an organization the likes of which the world had never seen before, nor has it been matched since... by

Old Tiler Talks
(476K)
At long last the Old Tiler sits again before the door of
his lodge, there to repeat the tales which made him
liked so long ago, and, from the wealth of material of
his hundreds of homilies, make thirty-nine new talks
to the book, a total of seventy in all.by

The Seven Liberal Arts
(30K)
...In the quest for increased membership, however dire our financial situation may or may not be, our strategies must never lose sight of the high destiny of our Fraternity lest we cut ourselves off from the very roots of our life-blood. And our roots are dug deep in the Mystery Schools of Antiquity whose purpose was to initiate candidates. What is initiation and how is it, in all sincerity, the business in which we are engaged? It is my task tonight to at least provide some background and thought provoking information so that you can by your own researches continue the process...by

Through Ritual to Enlightenment
(24K)
...We are equipped with a very beautiful, very strong ritual system as a means of advancing towards self-knowledge. Our candidate is already imbued with divine knowledge and wisdom, which needs only to be revealed, to be validated. He is on a journey to discover – to remember – his own spiritual links. His progress may be hindered if we pay attention only to the form of our craft and not the content, or if we are distracted by ideas of advancement, or if we seek the wrong things in our craft. It is possible that we need to search not only in the degree ceremonies themselves for the spirituality in Freemasonry... by

Traditional Observance Lodges
(11K)
While many Masons may have heard about European Concept lodges, which are themselves a relatively new concept in American Freemasonry, few have heard of the Traditional Observance lodge. Traditional Observance lodges are similar to European Concept lodges in that they also incorporate higher dues, festive boards, a strict dress code and higher standards of ritual, but differ in that they choose to follow a close observance of the traditional initiatic elements of Continental European and South American Freemasonry...by
