This is the book to have for someone new to the Craft! While I enjoyed Brother Morris' Idiots guide as well, I prefer this book for its clear, concise manner of writing as well as Brother Hodapp's sense of humour which is interlaced throughout the chapters. This is a great read and it can even be purchased digitally though Amazon's store; heck, I read the whole thing online before the hard copy hit my doorstep 2 days later!

The counterpart to Brother Hodapp's dummies book, this volume, written by a 33° Mason provides an equally compelling glimpse into the Craft. While they are structured similarly, both books present their information in a different manner and each has its own individual nuggets waiting to be found. I would tell anyone interested on any level in Masonry to pick up both the dummies book and this idiot's guide - they are equally valuable resources.

Beautiful full color photographs can be found on almost every page of this book relating to all aspects of the Craft.

This book provides a well written and historically accurate account of freemasonry and its symbols. I have complete confidence that Brother Roberts' book will be an excellent resource for me as I progress through the degrees.

What a beautiful book. Strewn about the pages are full color photographs relating to various aspects of both operative and speculative Masonry. A great - albeit somewhat simplified - overview of the history of the Craft.

Book on the history of Freemasonry and famous freemasons in America. Great read.
